San Juan Capistrano is perhaps best known for its Early California mission founded in 1776 and the yearly "return of the swallows" on St. Joseph's Day. The town  is nestled on the valley floor, and sweeping views from its hillsides show off California's captivating scenery. Wonderful weather year-round, good schools, and safe, friendly residential neighborhoods make San Juan Capistrano a favorite of South Orange County towns. The historic train depot and "Los Rios" old town district make this a welcome day's escape from the bustle of Los Angeles and North Orange County.
